In a surprising collaboration that challenges traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Disclosed

According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the pair with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Changes

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Additional Material

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This update also adds the game's third complimentary story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally contained a quest that obviously nodded to the famous series One-Punch Man.
